Wat Sothorn marks a new beginning for us since it became the first temple we visited as a new team. Our friend after whom this web site is named passed on and we needed an important temple for merit making or tamboon as it is called in Thailand. Phra Buddha Sothorn the principal image in this temple in Chachoengsao presented us with such an opportunity in May 2004. The new Phra Ubosot building made of Italian marble was almost finished but not open yet. We visited this royal temple again in June 2004. It is always very busy but a good place for serious Buddhists.
