Description
Southern red-billed hornbill (Tockus rufirostris) is a species in the family Bucerotidae, which is native to the savannas and dryer bushlands of southern Africa. Both sexes are similar, but males are larger and heavier and also have somewhat longer bills, with the lower mandible colored black to a variable extent. They have combination of yellow iris and pale orbital skin (pink to greyish). Their throat is white, but wing coverts are clearly spotted.
