This shot of the Blue and Gold Macaw was taken at the Parrot Paradise exhibit at the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore, which is among the largest in the world. Many species of parrots have become extinct or are in danger of doing so. This is the reason why special provisions have been made to encourage the breeding of parrots in captivity at the Parrot Paradise. So far, the Park has successfully bred 60 different species of the parrots in its collection.
