Pictured is a juvenile American white ibis and four adults foraging for food in Chokoloskee Bay in Florida. The adults are white and the juvenile has mainly brown plumage. The ibis main foraging behavior is probing with its beak at the bottom of shallow water to feel for and capture its prey. Chokoloskee Bay is roughly 10 miles long and 2 miles wide and is located along Florida s Gulf Coast, separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the Ten Thousand Islands.
