Mural For Award-Winning Musical "Parade" At Jacobs Theatre In Manhattan In 2023 Editorial Image

One of the musical hits of the 2023 Broadway season was "Parade" which was nominated for 6 Tonys and won two, for Best Musical Revival and for Best Direction of a Musical. This mural features previous Tony winner Ben Platt and co-star Micaela Diamond, playing the roles of Ben Platt in the role of Leo Frank and Micaela Diamond who played the role of his wife, Lucille Frank. The play was based on an historical event which took place in 1913. Leo Frank ran a factory in Georgia in 1913 when one of his employees was murdered. Frank was unjustly convicted but won on appeal. Shortly thereafter, he was lynched by an anti-Semitic mob of Klansmen, thus becoming the first Jewish person lynched in the United States. This production ran for about five and a half months, concluding on August 6, 2023. This image was made a few days before it closed at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on West 45th Street in midtown Manhattan.
