Description
Known as Katori-sama, the shrine is dedicated to the warrior deity Futsunushi no Mikoto and his sacred horse, Komagata no Okami, both of whom are the town's Shinto gods. The shrine is surrounded by an Osugi Shrine, an Inari Shrine, and numerous stone pagodas.Although the date of construction of Koda Katori-Komagata Shrine is unknown, it was enshrined as the town shrine of Koda (Koude), and was ranked as a village shrine when its shrine status was established after the Meiji Restoration.
