Mallard pair swimming away from danger #310019200
Description
Mating pair of Mallard ducks swimming in the shallow waters of the Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge, located near the Mississippi River in what is known as the Mississippi River Flyway. Located in east central Missouri near the river, the flat fields are flooded every fall and the migrating waterfowl stop and rest in the flooded fields on the way south and again on the way north in the spring. Bright blue sky is reflected on the shimmering water as the ducks paddle for thicker vegetation.
