Reynisfjara is a long beach on the south coast of Iceland near the town of Vik (Vik i Myrdal). The beach is situated in a beautiful setting of sea walls, columnar basalt and glaciers. It is covered with black volcanic ash and dark stones, and is therefore nicknamed 'Black Sand Beach', although Iceland is famous for its countless black sand beaches. Its beauty makes Reynisfjara Beach one of the most popular tourist spots in Iceland.
