Description
Jarlshof is one of the most remarkable archaeological sites ever excavated in the British Isles. It contains remains dating from 2500 BC up to the 17th century AD. Discoveries made include oval-shaped Bronze Age houses, an Iron Age broch and wheelhouses, Norse long houses, a medieval farmstead, and a lairdâs house dating from the 1500s. The site is located in Sumburgh, Mainland, Shetland islands.
