CANALI VALLEY, DOLOMITES, ITALY, 24 OCTOBER, 2023: Canali Valley and Welsperg lake, Trentino, Italy, Europe. #313025063
Description
The Val Canale (Kanaltal in German, Kanalska dolina in Slovenian, is a valley in the Eastern Alps, in the extreme north-east of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (province of Udine), which extends between Pontebba to the west and the Coccau pass to the east, between the Carnic Alps to the west, the Karavanke to the north and the Julian Alps to the south. The valley has several secondary alpine valleys, also impervious, which descend from the surrounding mountains, the most important of which is Valbruna or Val Saisera which descends northwards from the Jof Fuart-Montasio chain, followed by the valley of the Rio Bianco, the valley of Ugovizza and the Malborghetto valley. Welsperg lake, nestled in the splendid Val Canali, in eastern Trentino, is a particularly suggestive valley of Dolomite origin. Located 1030 meters high and a few kilometers away, today Lake Welsperg can be reached and visited by anyone who loves to immerse themselves in greenery and enjoy a walk or a holiday in the mountains, including excursions, walks and relaxation. Lake Welsperg was created artificially in the early 30s by the homonymous family from which it takes its name, as a basin in which to breed fish. The lake is located in the heart of Val Canali, and is surrounded by many beautiful mountain landscapes, particularly cool in summer and easily accessible. On the waters of Welsperg the woods and peaks of the Pale di San Martino are also reflected.
