Wasp Gall on an Oak Tree Branch #313937932
Description
Oak galls are abnormal plant growths found on foliage that are produced by small oak gall wasps of the Cynipid genus. Shapes of galls vary can be spherical, star-shaped or fuzzy. Inside the galls are the eggs and larvae of the wasps. Galls are made of plant material and vary in colors of yellow and green and turn tan or brown as the development continues. Galls will eventually brown and die once the adult insect emerges.
