Julius Castle Telegraph Hill San Francisco 5 Editorial Photo

Julius Roz, a recent Italian immigrant to San Francisco wanted his own castle styled restaurant and for inspiration was looking at the Telegraph Hill Castle. Since the Panama Pacific Exposition had just closed, there was plenty of scrap maple and redwoods for the construction. Although the restaurant was very popular, as the area became more and more built up, the neighbors started complaining about the noise and smoke from the customers, it was closed a few times and went through several owners.
