Description
The rotunda of Peter and Paul, which has been standing on the hill near Zakolany for 1100 years, remembers the young princes Wenceslas and his brother Boleslav, who learned to write here. It is the oldest surviving building in Bohemia.On an elevation above the Zakolansky brook near the village of Kovary, there are the remains of the Budec fortress, which was founded during the time of the first Premyslids. This fortress was one of many built by the Slavs on the hills as fortified settlements.
