USA, Arizona: Old West - Assayers Ore Crusher Editorial Image

This ore crusher is part of the Western Apacheland Studios built in 1959. A fire destroyed most of the buildings and equipment in 1969. The buildings that could be saved were transported to a new location and are now part of Superstition Mountain Museum in Central Arizona. An assayer is a a specialists in testing and analyzing precious metals; the pistons of this machine crush gold and silver ore. The assayers office is also in my portfolio:30246052.
