Ruined abbey, beside lake at Painshill park, Cobham, Surrey. #315745093
Description
A bright February day, sees the sun shining on the ruined abbey, which is reflected onto the lake at Painshill park. The abbey was built as a `folly` by Charles Hamilton in the 18th century. Follies were a popular addition to large gardens but usually served no other purpose than to provide an extravagant exterior appearance. Photo taken February 2018.
