Title
Close up of an external brown timber door. #315922784
Description
Abstract image of a brown timber door background. The simplest and earliest type of door is the plank door. Planks of wood are laid up side by side and then nailed together with a batten (a horizontal board) on the back. Thick nails are also headed and driven through to tie the planks to the battens. Varnish protects wood, providing a durable surface that helps to prevent damage and keeps it in good condition and enhance the natural colour of the timber.
