Ruined abbey, beside lake at Painshill park, Cobham, Surrey. #315981200
Description
A bright February day and the curving lake side, leads to the sun shining on the ruined abbey, which is reflected onto the lake at Painshill park. The abbey was built as a `folly` by Charles Hamilton in the 18th century. Follies were a popular addition to large gardens but usually served no other purpose than to provide an extravagant exterior appearance. Photo taken February 2018.
