So Cal Queen Palm Trees Dying Cut Down #315999874
Description
Palm Trees are dying from an invasive species are being cut down in Southern California from an infestation of the South American Palm Weevil which came in from Mexico a few years ago. The HUGE weevil bugs seem only to attack the big regal Canary Island variety of Queen palms by laying eggs in the tree crown where the larvae eat and kill the trees quickly. These freshly cut palms which grow up to 130 feet tall are at Moonlight Beach Encinitas and are a part of the California skyline!
