The flowers and fruits of Euphorbia cyphophora #316726713
Description
Euphorbia cyphophora Murr. is an evergreen or semi evergreen shrub, with a plant height of 0.5-2 meters when potted, and can grow to over 6 meters in subtropical regions. The stem is upright and smooth, with alternating single leaves, oval to broadly lanceolate in shape, and irregular deep notches. It is 10-15 centimeters long. The flowers are small and have nectaries, arranged in dense corymb inflorescences. The bract resembles a leaf, also known as the apical leaf, with a bright red base and half red and half green edges. Red bracts grow in clusters above, radiating outwards. The bracts are similar to the leaves, but narrower and are the main ornamental parts. Monoecious with different flowers, the female flowers are solitary in the center of the inflorescence, and the male flowers are mostly absent from the perianth. The capsule is flattened and round. The seeds are ovoid and black.
