Many historic towns are built on the hill above a harbor #316977108
Description
In 1770, Belfast, Maine was settled by Scottish-Irish families. With abundant timber, a waterfront, and proximity to agriculture, shipbuilding and maritime commerce grew and hundreds of wooden sailing ships were built by local shipyards during the 18th and 19th century. Today the picturesque town offers historical architecture, art, and vistas of a bygone era.
