On May 6, 2009, the entire cast of God of Carnage all of whom received Tony nominations appeared at the Meet the Nominees media session at The Millenium Broadway in New York City in the run-up to the 63rd Annual Tony Awards. As it turned out, the performance was given Best Play honors and Harden walked away with the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play. Gandolfini, well-known for his portrayal of mob boss Tony Soprano in The Sopranos a long-running and much decorated HBO tv drama, died suddenly at age 51 on June 19, 2013 in Italy.
