Bringing light to those in darkness - faith and art #318260680
Description
The Stone Chapel has been in continuous use since August 24, 1892 and is one of 18 historic summer chapels in the Diocese of Maine. The nave is the main room of the St. Annâs Episcopal Church, Kennebunkport, Maine. It comes from the Latin word meaning "ship" as the vaulted church ceiling resembles a ship turned upside down. The construction inspires the metaphor of the church as a safe vessel to sail the stormy and uncertain waters of life.
