Barbara Bush - love of gardens, reading, and family #318264055
Description
Gannyâs Garden is named for former United States first lady, Barbara Bush. It was created in Kennebunkport, Maine (near the Bush family summer resident) to recognize Barbara's community commitment and longstanding support of childrenâs health care and literacy. Also an avid gardener, the garden contains 17 trees to represent "Ganny's" grandchildren. Their initials are engraved in stones set in a rock wall that serves as a border. Barbara Bush herself is represented by bronze castings of a floppy hat, her favorite novel âPride and Prejudiceâ and a pair of Keds. The vibrant flower garden in a corner of the town park is a lovely location for quiet contemplation.
