Esteemed Soviet and Soviet Actress Nonna Mordyukova attends the Jerusalem Film Festival at the Jerusalem Cinematheque on July 1, 1988. She was considered one of the top actresses in the history of Russian cinema, often playing roles of peasant women. She was born in a Cossack village in Ukraine in 1925. She was bestowed the honor of The People's Artist of the USSR in 1974. At the press conference she answered questions with the assistance of an interpreter. Mordyukova died on July 6, 2008 in Moscow at the age od 82.
