Buddhist prayer flags over a sacred site in Melamchigyang, an important pilgrimage village in the Langtang conservation area #319477459
Description
Melamchigyang is a small village in Nepal's Langtang National Park along the Helambu Trekking Route, with a large community of Yolmo (Hyolmo) people. Believed to have been founded in the 8th-9th century, it holds great religious significance for Tibetan Buddhists, as Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) was said to have spent some time there. Today, pilgrims come to visit the Nyinda Rengjon Meditation where Guru Rinpoche had meditated.
