Hanazono Inari Shrine, a shrine located in Ueno Park, Taito Ward, Tokyo, JapanThe date of its founding is unknown. It has been enshrined in this place since ancient times, and is also known as Ana Inari because it was located on top of a rock cave. Even today, Ana Inari is maintained in the cave. In 1654, the disciple of Tenkai Daisojo, the resident monk of Honkaku-in, Kokai Sojo, had a dream and rebuilt the abandoned shrine, making it the guardian deity of Ueno Hill. It is known as the last fierce battlefield (the Battle of Ana Inari Gate) of the Shogitai at the end of the Edo period.
