Brain eating amoeba #320895439
Description
Naegleria fowleri typically infects humans when contaminated water enters the body through the nose, such as when swimming or diving in warm freshwater. Once inside the nasal passages, the amoeba can travel to the brain, where it causes a rare but severe infection called primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM). PAM is a rapidly progressing and usually fatal condition.
