Osler nodes #321337335
Description
Osler nodes are small, tender, raised areas found on the pads of the fingers and toes, as well as on the palms and soles of the feet. They are associated with certain medical conditions, particularly infective endocarditis, which is an infection of the inner lining of the heart chambers and valves. These nodes are thought to result from immune complex deposition and inflammation in the small blood vessels of the skin, leading to localized areas of tenderness and swelling. They are often accompanied by other signs and symptoms of infective endocarditis, such as fever, chills, fatigue, and cardiac murmurs.
