Description
Bánffy Castle from Rascruci, Bontida commune, Cluj county on Main street no. 484, is listed on the list of historical monuments in Cluj County. It is a castle built in a neoclassical style, sometime at the beginning of the 19th century. It was the summer residence of the nobles of the Banffy family, who also owned the neighboring castle of Bontida, where the Electric Castle takes place every year. A lake was also set up in the middle of the Rascruci site. The current building, the so-called pavilion, was built according to the model of noble castles in England and was made in such a way that the wooden decoration of the halls and rooms, the carpentry, the ceramic elements were designed somewhere between 1875-1885. The castle has become an iconic building.
