Béziers is a city in southern France. It is a sub-prefecture of the Hérault department in the Occitanie region. Every August, Béziers hosts the famous Feria de Béziers, which focuses on bullfighting. The five-day event attracts a million visitors. The city is located on a small cliff above the Orb River, about 10 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast and 75 kilometers southwest of Montpellier. In Béziers, the Canal du Midi crosses the River Orb via the Pont-canal de l'Orb, an aqueduct believed to be the first of its kind.
