Pictured are two elephants walking away from the Chobe River into the bush in Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. They were photographed from a boat based at the Chobe Game Lodge. The elephants just finished drinking in the nearby river. Elephants drink around eleven gallons of water a day and the herd visits this beach often. Elephants are herbivorous and will eat as much as 660 pounds of leaves, twigs, fruit, bark, grass and roots a day. The binomial name is Loxodonta africana.
