Pictured is a male impala set to drink from the Chobe River in Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. The ground is covered with elephant dung as the area is a popular spot for herds of elephants to come and drink. The impala or rooibok is a medium-sized antelope capable of leaping up to nearly ten feet in the air. The glossy coat of the impala is reddish brown on the back, tan on the flanks and white on the underbelly. The binomial name is Aepyceros melampus. The impala was photographed from a safari boat stationed at the historic Chobe Game Lodge.
