Pictured is a young African bush elephant foraging along the shore the edge of the Chobe River in Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. The elephant is feeding himself with the tip of its trunk. Elephants are herbivorous and will eat as much as six-hundred sixty pounds of leaves, twigs, fruit, bark, grass and roots a day. Elephants drink around eleven gallons of water a day. The binomial name is Loxodonta africana. The elephant was photographed from the Chobe River on a safari boat from the historic Chobe Game Lodge
