Pictured is a lioness licking the face of another lioness in Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. Groups of female lions usually hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates. The lion inhabits grasslands, savannahs, and shrublands and is an apex and keystone predator. The binomial name is Panthero leo. The lionesses were photographed from a safari jeep stationed at the historic Chobe Game Lodge, the only permanent lodge in the park.
