Pictured is a male impala antelope drinking from the Chobe River in Chobe National Park in Botswana, Africa. The impala is an important prey species for Africa's large carnivores. To escape it can jump up to 10 feet high and cover distances in the air up to 33 feet. The binomial name is Aepyceros melampus. The antelope was photographed from the Chobe River on a safari boat from the historic Chobe Game Lodge.
