Description
Pictured is a southern yellow-billed hornbill with open bill perched at the top of a lifeless tree trunk in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa. The bird feeds mainly on the ground, where they forage for seeds, small insects, spiders and scorpions. They can often be seen along roads and water courses. A blue sky with puffy white clouds is in the background. It was photographed from a safari vehicle at the Atzaro Okavango Camp. The binomial name is Tockus leucomelas.
