Hungry lion cubs feeding on the remains of a several day old zebra carcass in the grass in the Okavango Delta. #323197904
Description
Pictured are hungry lion cubs feeding on the remains of a several day old zebra carcass in the grass in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, Africa. Lion cubs do not learn to hunt effectively until they are two years old. There was no lioness seen anywhere with these cubs and it was assumed the lioness had been killed, giving these cubs little chance of survival. The binomial name is Panthera leo. The photograph was taken from a safari vehicle at the Atzaro Okavango Camp.
