International Hotel San Francisco Editorial Photo

The San Francisco International Hotel has a history going back to 1854 when it was originally established as a luxury hotel for high end travelers. During the 1920's through 1930's when there were a large wave of Asian workers coming to the San Francisco area, they would stay here. As more workers were coming from The Philippines, the area became known as Manilatown. This was also during the Urban Renewal period of the 1960's, with the building finally being town down in 1977. This building on Kearny Street, which began in 2003 and completed in 2005, is now the fourth International Hotel in San Francisco, for low income residents. As seen 19 October 2022.
