Koelreuteria paniculata Laxm, also known as Luan tree, lantern tree, money tree, Luan Hua, etc., is a deciduous tree or shrub of the Luan genus in the Sapindaceae family. The bark is thick, gray brown to gray black, and cracks longitudinally when old. The leaf cluster grows on the branches of the same year, with one, incomplete two, or occasionally bipinnate compound leaves, opposite or mutual. Umbrella inflorescence The flower is light yellow with 4 petals. Capsule conical, with 3 edges. One seed per chamber, black, nearly spherical in shape. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from September to October. Luan has a neat tree crown, bright red leaves in spring, and yellow flowers blooming all over the tree in summer. Its branches are covered with capsules, making it a beautiful ornamental tree species suitable for use as a roadside tree and shade tree.
