Description
Purple indigo flowers, or wild indigo are pea shaped flowers that can be blue or violet in color. There are also known as blue wild indigo, and can grow up to 4 feet tall and has dense, upright flower spikes that can be 4 - 16 inches long. They have light green leaves and oblong fruits that appear in late summer. This flowering plant weed prefers full sun to part shade and well drained, lime free stony soil. It may be aggressive in gardens and may need regular pruning.
