Description
The Hongjialou Catholic Church in Jinan, Shandong, China, was the largest Catholic church in North China when it was built, with a twin Gothic building that bears a striking resemblance to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and Westminster Abbey. As a Western building, Chinese traditional cultural elements are also integrated. The roof of the main hall of the church is covered with Chinese traditional small black tiles. There are two stone heads carved into the upper stone wall on both sides of the church door, the dragon mouth is wide open, the angry eyes are wide open, the sculpture is vivid and exaggerated, and the crane murals above the church interior.
