The Rent Collection Courtyard is a modern large-scale group sculpture created between June and October 1965, and is displayed in the Liu Wencai Manor in Dayi County, Sichuan Province, China. The sculptors integrated Western sculptural techniques with traditional Chinese folk clay sculpting skills to vividly and profoundly create 114 life-sized human figures. These figures are displayed through seven groups of figures (paying rent, checking rent, winnowing, measuring, accounting, forcing rent, and resisting), showcasing the main means of exploitation by landlords - the collection of rent.
