Temple Yagenbori Fudoin in Higashi Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, TokyoThe principal image of Fudo Myoo was carved by Kokyo Daishi Kakuban, the founder of the Shingon sect of Buddhism, in 1137 during the reign of Emperor Shotoku, and was enshrined at Negoroji Temple in Kishu, Japan, as a symbol of gratitude for his successful completion of a 43-year-old bad year.
