The European Bee-Eater (Merops apiaster) is a colorful, medium-sized bird renowned for its striking plumage, which features a blend of green, blue, yellow, and chestnut. Inhabiting open country with scattered trees, this species primarily feeds on bees, wasps, and other flying insects caught in flight.
