Description
The Royal Library in Copenhagen is the national library of the Kingdom of Denmark and the largest of all the Scandinavian countries.All works printed in Denmark since the 17th century are deposited there, reaching its collections up to the first books printed in the country in 1482. It was founded by King Frederick III of Denmark in 1648, although it has only been open to the public since 1793. Since 1989 it has merged with various university libraries. Its collections reach more than 32 million documents, of which there are 6 million between books and periodicals.
