The hand of Fatima, also called the hand of Alo or khamsa is a typical amulet of the Middle East, but now widespread throughout the world. This symbol belongs to both the Jewish and Islamic religions. For Judaism, this symbol represents the hand of Miriam, sister of Moses and Aaron and its five fingers represent the books of the Torah. For Islam it was a symbol of freedom as the woman called Fatima sacrificed her hand to be freed and its five fingers recall the five pillars of faith in Islam namely the testimony of faith, prayer, legal almsgiving, fasting in Ramadan, the Pilgrimage to Mecca. This hand, therefore, has become a remedy against the evil eye and negativity as well as representing freedom, optimism and positivity. In this illustration, this symbol is enclosed in a circular cartouche placed in the center of a cross. This illustration can be used as a logo or decoration in all projects related to the cross and the Christian religion that this Middle Eastern symbol.
