The monument of the Torun donkey was unveiled in 2007. It stands in the same place, where until the end of the 18th century there was a pillory of a similar form.In the old days, the pillory was a way of punishing residents for various offenses. On a wooden donkey, on whose back there was a sheet with a protruding edge, mostly undisciplined soldiers were planted. To their legs weights were tied, making the punishment more 'pleasant'.
