The Western Norwegian Museum of Decorative Art also known as KODE 1, is located in Bergen, Norway. It was established in 1887 on the initiative of Johan Bøgh. In 1896, the museum moved to a permanent exhibition building, a Neo-Renaissance style structure designed by Henry Bucher (1864-1944). The building caught fire during the Bergen fire of 1916, but was saved.Collections include antique local works in silver, furniture, glass, porcelain and textiles. When it opened, the museum received significant donations from the merchant Christian Sundt.
