Description
The Millennium Fountain and was built in memory of the House of Arpad, the leader of the Magyar tribes who arrived in the city in the 9th century. The fountain features four statues of lions symbolizing the golden celestial bodies in the country, facing the four corners of the compass, and representing faith, courage, dignity and light. This fountain is a popular tourist attraction among tourists who visit it to enjoy its view and take souvenir photos. Szeged is known as the home of paprika, a spice made from dried, powdered capsicum fruits. Szeged is situated near the southern border of Hungary, just to the south of the mouth of the Maros River, on both banks of the Tisza River, nearly in the centre of the Carpathian Basin. The Hungarian frontier with Serbia is just outside the town.
