Description
The monument was erected on the basis of the decree of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR dated September 24, 1973 No. 1540-R.The monument was completed on May 7, 1977, and its opening took place on the night of May 9.The authors are sculptor Boris Edunov and architect Mikhail Insekin.The bronze sculpture was made in Leningrad at the Order of the Red Banner of Labor art casting factory Monumentsculpture. After manufacture, it was discovered that the figure of I. D. Chernyakhovsky did not have enough stars of the army general on the shoulder straps â they were supplemented by Edunov.
